What is the adoption fee?
Our adoption fees help offset the high cost of rescuing and caring for our dogs.
- Under 2 years old $450
- 2 years old to 8 years old $350
- 8 years old and older $250
- Small breed (*all ages) $450
What does the adoption fee cover?
Adoption fees help cover a portion of each dog's care, including:
- spay or neuter
- microchip
- vaccinations
- monthly flea, tick and heartworm prevention
- food, supplies, and basic care
On average, a single veterinary visit can cost $300-$600 or more, depending on the dog's needs. While some dogs require minimal care, others need hundreds to thousands of dollars in treatment. Adoption fees allow us to continue helping the dogs who need us most.
Why is there a fee to surrender my pet?
We require a surrender fee to help offset the immediate medical and care costs we assume when taking in a dog. We understand that surrendering a pet is often an emotional and difficult decision, but without community support, we cannot continue saving lives or providing proper care.
Does your rescue receive government funding or grants?
No. Three Stooges Rescue does not receive government funding or grants. We rely entirely on adoption fees, donations, and community support to provide a safe and loving haven for dogs in need.
Why do you require an application before I meet the dog?
We require an application prior to a meet-and-greet to ensure the dog you're interested in is a good fit for your household. The application process also helps us ensure adopters are fully prepared and committed to welcoming a dog into their family.
Do you offer discounts or payment?
Due to the overwhelming number of homeless dogs in need and the rising cost of veterinary care, we are unable to offer discounts or payment plans at this time.
Where does my money go?
Every dollar donated or paid in adoption fees goes directly toward saving and caring for dogs in need, including:
- veterinary care -- exams, spay/neuter, vaccines, diagnostics, medications, surgeries, and emergency treatment
- preventative care -- monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
- food & supplies -- quality food, crates, beds, leashes, collars, enrichment items
- boarding & foster support -- for dogs without immediate fosters home
- training & behavioral support -- professional training when needed to help dogs succeed in adoptive homes
- transportation & rescue costs -- safe transport from shelters, owner surrenders, and emergency situations
As a small, volunteer-driven rescue, we prioritize direct care for our dogs so your support makes an immediate, lifesaving impact.
